Listening to the ships of Palma

Me and Mar Canet Sola are currently artists-in-residency at CRIDA in Palma where we are listening to the traffic of local sea. We are using AIS-2-USB radar and antenna for receiving all the data of reachable area. These data are then applied for the real-time score composition purpose. The sound piece is realized in PD and reflects upon the invisible data of sea. Therefore the project is called ‘The Flux of Sea’.

In addition to the sound installation we have done silk prints of data visualization and as well light installation.

Urban stitching

My 1st cherries got destroyed. so i decided to make new and bigger ones

Couldn’t stand greyness of Liverpool anymore and decided to bring some colors through stitching on the metal wall

using an old car alternator for ENERGY!

SWEATING FOR POPCORN!

normally for a bike generator DC permanent magnet motors are used that is quite expensive. An old car alternator is much cheaper option. Here is my first try for powering a lamp (sorry for a bit shaky video).

The difference is alternator needs to see 12V for starting up because it has not magnets inside.

Hand-made electronic toys

I am building a series of huggable toys: blinking eyes, moving propeller, sound, and more. I think it will be fun to convert the whole process into a workshop.

About the process:

1. cut out the parts from fabric

2. stitch them together

3. IMPORTANT PART: using foam for making space between conductive material and connecting right parts.

metal folie is a cheap solution. I wish i had a conductive fabric!

challenging iPhone: Arduino communication + sensors

iPhone+alcohol

I used OTOduinofor establishing communication between iPhone and Arduino. Alcohol sensor is connected to the iphone and is able to measure alcohol in the air. I am working on experimental playful interfaces that this technology definitely enables and encourage

Generative Play

The project is about the exploration of generative art. We are combining the image composition by a computer with manual generative approach and painting.

First, we have developed a computer algorithm that arranges images into a canvas in a continuous path. Then, we have applied the same rules for manual composition. Even more, we have turned the instructions into a game.

I found finger covers from rubber in the 100yen shop and decided to make something out of them because i really liked their texture.
